Oh snap, DOOM is back bitches! Back in the early 90s when I was just a little guy, I enjoyed many endless nights of hooking up on the 14.4 modem with my buddy down the street. Hell, I loved this game so much I even made some of own custom levels(which were pretty sick!) to slaughter each other on. For those of you who aren’t familiar with DOOM, the game comes from ID Software and was widely recognized for making first person shooter games popular with it’s stunning 3D graphics. As a space marine you kill demons from Hell while venturing through a military base on Mars, packed with all sorts of kick ass weapons.

With the DOOM source code being open source and available to the public, there have been some attempts in the past to port DOOM to mobile devices. Some have been better than others, but nothing to spectacular. What makes this one different, is DoomGLES is actually ported to OpenGL – giving highly improved graphics. The developer has said the new port is, “the best looking DOOM port on mobile devices.”
